What you need to do is contact your local county board of elections office about getting an Absentee Ballot. You can find that office on this website: http://www.elections.state.ny.us/CountyBoards.html

The first thing you should do is check your registration status in NY. You can check to see if you are registered at your current address and if your registration is up to date. You can look up your registration status here: https://voterlookup.elections.state.ny.us/votersearch.aspx

If you need to update your registration status in anyway you can register to vote here: http://rockthevote.com/register .

Also if you do have any questions about your registration you can always call your local county board of elections: http://www.elections.state.ny.us/CountyBoards.html

We can send you a new form to fill out but if you want to register to vote so you can participate in the city elections on November 8th you will need to go to your local board of elections office and get a new form.http://www.elections.state.ny.us/CountyBoards.html

If you are a new voter who has registered by mail, you will be required to show identification when you go to vote for the first time. It is advisable for all new voters to bring identification when voting for the first time.

Acceptable IDs to to vote are:

Passport

Government ID card

Military ID card

Student ID card

Public housing ID card

Any ID specified by HAVAand New York State law as acceptable: Utility bill

Bank statement

Paycheck

Government check (Social Security, tax refund, military paycheck or paycheck stub)

Where do I go to vote?

Unfortunately, no. There is no online voting in the United States. The only way to vote from out-of-state is to request an absentee ballot. The deadline to request an absentee ballot has passed. Sorry to not have better news.
