Where do I go to vote?

Unfortunately, no. There is no online voting in the United States. The only way to vote from out-of-state is to request an absentee ballot. The deadline to request an absentee ballot has passed. Sorry to not have better news.

Unfortunately, New York does not have same day registration.

You should be sure to change your registration right away to make sure you can vote next election.

Ideally, you would vote at the polling place associated with the address you used to register to vote.

If you need to look it up, just use the FIND YOUR POLLING PLACE tool on the right-hand side of this page.

You could also go to your nearest polling location. If you are not on the rolls, you will be allowed to a provisional ballot.

After the election, the elections officials will determine whether you are a registered and eligible voter and if they will count your vote. Not ideal but better than not voting.

Remember to update your information before the next election.

Unfortunately, New York does not make it easy to find out. Many states have one simple online look up system, but there is not one available in NY.

To verify your voter registration, you'll have to contact your local elections office. Some county elections officials allow you to check the status of your voter registration through their website, by telephone, or both.

It is too late to update your address on your voter registration.

You are still registered to vote at your previous address, so you may be able to cast your ballot at your former polling place. You should contact your local board of elections for a determination: http://www.elections.state.ny.us/CountyBoards.html.

If you are a New York State resident, you cannot vote in Florida.

In general, you have to vote in the state you reside in.
