  first time voter registrtion...i dont feel strong enuff in just one party to choose sides...and if i do choose a side and its not for me can i change?

  1 0 The good news is that you don't need to worry about choosing a side for the general election. The choice of a party is only relevant for primaries and caucuses. If you don't feel strongly about those things, don't sweat it. If you do end up choosing a party, you can always switch. Good voting!   1 1 Hmmm...that is a tough one to answer. The polls are open early and stay open late on election day in New York. Polling Places open 6:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.   0 0 There is a one stop shop for this kind of information put together by the League of Women Voters: http://www.vote411.org/ The best (and most fun) site out there is operated the nonpartisan, nonprofit Vote Smart.   I registered to vote, but they spelled my name wrong.

  0 0 That is a bummer, Lottiemoons. The best thing to do is complete another Voter Registration Form with the corrected information, and mail it to your county board of elections. You have several options: -you can get a Voter Registration Form from your local board of elections -you can download a PDF version of the Voter Registration Form from www.elections.state.ny.us/voting.html -you can call 1-800-FOR-VOTE -or you can click the Register to Vote button on the right of this page You can get your county board of elections information here: http://www.elections.state.ny.us/CountyBoards.html I hope that helps.
